Our view of Zoneminder

IOur view of Zonemindern 2011, we have worked on various projects, others exciting, and others not so...exciting.

Something that always intrigued us, is making CCTV applications and installations, with SMS alerts, e-mail alerts, remote Internet interfaces, and so on.

As we rely heavily on open-source software, both for the benefit of our clients, in terms of pricing, and also because we believe in and support the open-source movement (we have been part of Linux distributions and others since 2002), we have selected ZoneMinder as our CCTV software.

And thats where it gets tricky...

ZoneMinder is an amazing (or should I say, used to be) piece of software. Unfortunately the latest stable version is 2 years old, and that means its not entirely supported actively. But oh well. Its good as it is.

Servers are down due to unknown reasons!

1

Our production servers are down this morning, due to unknown reasons (at first).

It turns out the company that leases our servers to us, was undergoing some serious maintainance, and their notification e-mail has slipped and was lost in the pile :)

We are very sorry for the inconvenience, and we'll get back to you as soon as everything is back up and running (which will be very very soon!)
